2021年导演Marcus Dunstan和Patrick Melton在国外某广播频道表示，夜魔映《夜魔3》项目本来在2019年末拍摄了8天，电影目前发布相关剧照也是候上来自当时8天内拍摄的。但《夜魔》系列的夜魔映制片人在8天拍摄后突然联系不上，手机电话短信Email都不回复了，电影大概率是候上对该项目不再感兴趣。于是夜魔映剧组全员停工，不幸的电影是，本片的候上剧组道具还被偷了，损失了不少财产。夜魔映更糟糕的电影是，《夜魔》系列电影的候上版权目前由联系不上的制片人掌握，无法找下家接盘，夜魔映甚至连粉丝众筹也无能为力。电影该系列电影第三部的候上未来走向目前未知，前路漫长。
